From the Head of Campus Broadmeadows - Ms Erin Bonavia Vol 3

Just like that we are now in March and school life is certainly in full swing. Thank you for your efforts in supporting your child with their return to school routines this year.

Co-curricular program
It has been great to see many students already engaging in the co-curricular activities of the College. From sporting teams to production rehearsals, students have had many opportunities to develop their personal skills and wellbeing outside the classroom. My thanks to the College staff who volunteer their time to make these fun and engaging activities possible.

Community relationships
Our relationship with the local community is important and this includes how our students conduct themselves in public areas, on their way to and from school such as public transport, shopping centres and surrounding streets. I urge all students to please treat members of the public with respect and represent our College with pride. Allowing pedestrians to pass through walk ways and the underpass at the stations before and after school, and being mindful of personal and group conduct on public transport such as trains and buses are ways that we expect our students to be courteous. Some of our Year 12 students may be driving themselves to school this year and park their cars on surrounding streets. I ask students who are parking their cars to please be mindful not to block rubbish bin access, driveways or additional car spaces. Discussing these reminders with your child would be much appreciated.

International Women’s Day
Next Tuesday 8 March is International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The theme for International Women’s Day this year is “break the bias”. I wish all women in our community a very happy International Women’s Day and a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive and a world where difference is valued and celebrated.
